Randy Demmon is a pianist, composer, double bassist and arranger based in Ottawa. He performs as a piano soloist and with a variety of ensembles as a pianist or double bassist. In addition to his own compositions his repertoire covers a wide range of musical styles from classical and jazz to pop.

Attending UBC in his home province of British Columbia, Randy studied oboe with Warren Stannard and composition with Jean Coulthard Adams. In addition to a B.A in music he has a M.Ed Admin.degree from Ottawa U. and a M.A. in Canadian Studies from Carleton. He has travelled extensively throughout Canada and around the globe as the founder and leader of the RCMP "Bison" Band which performed an ambassadorial role promoting Canada and Canadian music abroad.

Randy became involved in music at an early age and it has played a major role throughout his life. Early in his career he spent 3 years initiating music programs for the Yellowknife N.W.T. school system and he continues to teach privately. He recently completed and published two books of piano music. The first is a collection of his own compositions titled Place Settings and a second, titled Cool Changes, consists of unique reworkings of Christmas Songs. His other interests include visual art and writing. In addition to working on several recording projects and another book of piano music, Randy is putting the finishing touches on a book of animal stories for young readers.
